5 Great Reasons to Take Up Adult Netball

These days, we all lead such busy lives that it can be difficult to make time for regular exercise, certainly when the nights are long and the temperatures low. Heading out to the gym on your own can be hard work too, but taking up a team sport can be so much easier to continue with.

Meet New People

Lots of us had our first introduction to netball in our school days, and few take the sport any further. Once we reach adulthood, most of us develop inhibitions we never had as children, and making friends can be a much bigger deal, but taking part in a shared experience like a team sport can be a great way to overcome them again. Humans are essentially ‘pack animals’, and we like a sense of belonging and camaraderie, so playing in a local netball league gives a nice amount of competitive spirit. It’s a great way to meet new people and to have a bit of fun.

Beginners Welcome

While a lot of people get a chance to play netball at school, teams are also happy to welcome people who have no previous experience of the game. The game’s professional umpires are generally very helpful and keen for everyone to understand decisions. Playing in different positions while you find your preference will also help you understand the rules and regulations.
